2010 Field Trips

March 30th, 2010
April  11 –Stonerose – Republic –fossils –thin chisles etc to split shale–lunch ‘ water etc. Any car .  Meet at Harvest foods in Kettle Falls at  8:30 am
April 25— Phillips Ranch Mine –Selenite, Pyrite, copper minerals– hard rock tools, lunch, water–any car. Meet at Harvest foods in Kettle Falls at 9 am
May 02–Saddle Mt. — Petrified Wood, possibly diatomaceous earth (for polishing compound)
Digging tools , lunch ,water, any car,– Meet.  At Safeway parking in Chewelah at 7:00am
May 16 –Adams Mt.– Quartz Crystal , Epidote, Malachite, Molybdenum, garnet — Digging tools,lunch, water, 4wd only –meet at Fruitland at 9 am
June 13–Crystal prospect , Allen Rd.–  Smokey Quartz– Hard rock tools ,cars with good clearance– meet at Safeway parking in Chewelah at 9 am –get your permit in advance at Levi’s mini-mart in Deer Park-(license number,signature, $10 per car)
June 20 –Day break Mine –Autinite  Hard rock tools –Cars with good clearance –meet at Levi’s mini-mart in  Deer Park at 9 am for permit (  license number, signature, and $10per car) –For south bound cars take first exit into town and Levi’s is just past the park.
June 27 –Keystone and Edna mines –Serpentines,Pyrites,Copper minerals –hard rock tools –cars with good clearance — meet at Safeway parking in Chewelah at 9AM
July 11 –Horseshoe MT.–Quartz Crystal– hard rock tools-Cars with good clearance –Meet at Harvest Foods in Kettle Falls at 8 AM
July 25 — Sullivan Lake — Soapstone –hard rock tools –cars with good clearance — meet at Colville Safeway parking at 9AM
Aug 7 — Kelly hill — White Rock Quarry –meet at Harvest foods in Kettle Falls at 9 AM
Aug 22 –Gladstone Mt –Galena, Dolomite Crystals –hard rock tools , 4wd only — meet at Colville Safeway parking at 9 AM
Sept. 12 –S. Fk. Sherman Creek — Diopside Crystals  –hard rock tools –any car — meet at HarvestFoods in Kettle Falls at 9 AM
